BotStar Integration
Nexweave recently updated its UI and got a new look! You will notice differences (especially in the colours) between the graphics and screenshots you see in this article and the corresponding sections within the Nexweave platform. Don’t worry though, because the steps and processes this article details remain the same. Moreover, we’re going to updating this article to reflect our platform changes very soon. Stay tuned and keep reading!

Serve Nexweave images through conversational chatbots to provide your customers with a real-time, engaging, personalized chat experience!
Nexweave allows you to create and share personalized images and gifs through Botstar

Here’s a sample of how you can immediately grab your customer’s attention with a personalized and unique greeting:

1. Start by configuring and launching a URL Override campaign in Nexweave. To learn how you can successfully run a URL campaign, please have a look at the linked article, or you can also refer to the video below:

2. While the above tutorial discusses how to create an Image + Video Campaign, for this demonstration, we have set our campaign type to Image. This is because chatbot platforms allow us to embed an image in the chat.

3. Once your campaign is launched, click on Get Embed Code

4. In the embed code modal, set the Integration platform from the dropdown to Botstar

5. Then, map each of the listed Nexweave variables with the corresponding Botstar variables by selecting them from the dropdown.

In case the variable list does not contain an appropriate match, you can also manually add custom platform variable from within the dropdown.

6. In our demonstration we have mapped the variables:

  • USERNAME : {first_name}

7. Click on Generate embed code to get the URL compatible with the Botstar platform

8. Within Botstar, create a new bot or select an existing bot to edit

9. Ensure that your chatbot is collecting the prospect/ customer information into variables that will be used in your Nexweave personalized image

10. For this, in our demonstration, we:

  • Added a text block to request the prospect’s first name

  • From the right hand panel, set the user response handling to Expect User response

  • Connected the text block to the Action block - update user attributes

  • Under Action Configuration, on the right, set attribute - {first_name} to value {response.latest_response}

11. Next, create an Image Block linked to the above action bot

12. To embed the personalized image, copy the URL generated from the Nexweave campaign and paste it into the Image URL input for the image block

Please note: in the preview you may see the variable merge tag, however, when previewed and during an actual chatbot experience, Botstar will collect and pass prospect data to the image so a personalised experience is created!

13. Your personalised image has been incorporated and is ready to be shared! You can similarly request for additional information from your prospects and create an engaging and responsive visual flow.

When ready, you can publish your created bot
