Do you have a complete walkthrough of how to make an Image template?

How can I upload a background image? 

The background serves as the base Image in an Image Template. All personalised text and image elements that are added in the editor are then added as layers to this base.

The background image can be configured in any of the following ways:

  • Click on Media Gallery to view all recently uploaded images. Select your desired background image and click on Done to confirm. 
  • Or, If you choose to have a solid colour as a background instead of an image, You can configure your desired Canvas size and click on the Colour block to select the background colour of your choice. Then, click on Setup Canvas for Image Personalisation to confirm.

Can I change the background Image?

If you are editing or cloning an existing template within the Image editor, you can click on Background Image to change the Image in use. The pop-up for the Image background appears.

What image aspect ratio can I upload?

Nexweave is flexible! It can take images of any size and aspect ratio. The dimension of the image template is determined by the dimension of the selected background image.



What are Components?

Components are the elements that can be added on top of the Image. When you access the image editor, you can see the available component options to the right of the canvas.
 
There are two types of elements that can be added as layers to your image. These include: 
  • Text: Clicking on the text tile will add a textbox to the Image canvas. You can edit this text box from its properties that appear on the right.
  •  Image: Clicking on the Image tile will add a blank Image to your canvas. Under properties, you can select the image you want to add here.



Where do I define the personalization variables for my experience?

With Nexweave, users can create and manage their own variables that can be used for personalization. While editing any experience, if you wish to add personalisation variables, click on Enlist Variables within the Editor. You can add both Text inputs as variables as well as set images as variables. With these personalized elements, you'll be able to make each experience unique, just like our customers!

Here are the steps to guide you through creating and managing your personalization variables for any template.



What is Define Meta?

The Define Meta tab within an Image Editor is where the template details are defined. The following details are provided/ can be edited for video templates :
  • The Template ID 
  • Set the Template Name
  • Set the Template Description
  • Background size
  • Set the Template Category


Which Image formats are supported as background Image?

You can use JPEG, PNG, or a GIF file as a background image.



How can I use personalized Images as a social preview?

You can use your personalized image template as a personalized social preview for a video template from within the Define Meta tab of the video editor.

Can I change the position and order of the components in my Image template?

When a component is added to the Image canvas, it is highlighted. It can be dragged to reposition, and its edges can be dragged out or in to adjust the dimension. There is also a 3-line icon on the top left corner of the component.

The following actions can be performed from the 3-line icon, on the component, within the canvas:
  • Move forward: Clicking on this will adjust the relative ordering of component layers. It will move the selected component to the front. 
  • Move backward: Clicking on this will adjust the relative ordering of component layers. It will move the selected component to the back.
  • Duplicate/Clone: This will duplicate the selected component.
  • Delete: This function will let you delete your component.


Can I duplicate the component on my image canvas?

You can duplicate a component on the image canvas by clicking on 3 line icon and selecting clone as an option.



How can I add text to an image template?

With Nexweave, you can add layers of personalized text to your image templates. Simply start by clicking on the Text component tile and then edit all its respective properties open on the right of the canvas.



Can I upload my own font?

Nexweave supports custom brand fonts. You can upload your font file under the content tools tab, Click on font dropdown, and select upload font.  

We support the following file formats:
  • TTF (TrueType Font)
  • OTF (OpenType Font)
  • WOFF (Web Open Font Format)
  • WOFF2
Apart from this, we also have a library of over 900 fonts.



How can I tilt the text to fit in a frame?

Nexweave has a 3D warp function for the Image and Text component, using which you can align your text or image component the way you like.

How can I add multiple text components to my Image?

With the Nexweave platform, you can add multiple components to your image template. The process is easy: click on the Text component tile and edit all its respective properties that pop up on the screen. If you want another text component or a different type of component, repeat these steps!



How to add personalization variables to the text component?

Perform the following steps to add personalization variable to the Text component:
  • Within the editor, click on the component on the canvas that you would like to personalize. Its properties will open on the right. 
  • Under Content Tools, you will edit the text content for the Text component by typing in the text box.
  • To add personalization, click on the Select Variables dropdown to see the available personalization variables. 
  • Copy the variable that you would like to use and paste it into the text editor within content tools. 
  • On the canvas, you will be able to see the edited component with personalized placeholder value that was set in the Enlist Variables tab.


How can I personalize an Image?

Boost your engagement with dynamic images. Each recipient can see a different image based on their personal information or preferences. Perform the following steps to add a personalized image within an Image template:
  • Start by Enlisting an image as a personalization variable. Click on Enlist Variables within the template editor.
  • Click on Add Variable. 
  • For key, input the variable name. for example, you can set the variable name as WEBSITE_IMAGE.
  • For value input the image URL that you would like to use. 
  • Click on Save Template to confirm the changes.
  • Back in Design Experience, under Components, click on the image tile to add it to the canvas. Its properties will open on the right.
  • Under Source Tools, click on the Select Variable dropdown and copy the Image variable created in the previous steps (WEBSITE_IMAGE).
  • In the Image URL input box, paste this personalization variable. Click on Save Template to complete!


How can I add multiple images to my Image?

With the Nexweave platform, you can add multiple components to your image template. The process is easy: click on the Image component tile and edit all its respective properties that pop up on the screen. If you want another Image component or a different type of component, repeat these steps!



How do I resize an image?

You can resize and reposition the image by selecting the image component on the screen. You can also use the design tool to adjust its dimensions or lock in a set aspect ratio so that images do not stretch out of proportion.



How do I replace an existing image?

Firstly, Under Properties, click on Source Tools to select the Image/ gif to include.
Secondly, You can perform either of the three steps to add or replace an existing image or gif.
  • Source an online Image/ gif: Enter a URL, in the space provided, for the image/gif address, to source an image/gif online.
  • Upload a recently uploaded file: Click on Upload Image. From the pop-up that appears, click on one of the existing images/ gifs.
  • Add a new image from your personal files: Click on Upload Image. In the pop-up that appears, click on Upload once again and select your desired image/ gif from your personal files.
