How can I upload a background video?
The background video serves as the base in a Video Template. All components - texts, images, buttons, etc. that are added to this video in the editor are then added as layers to this base. The background video can be set/ changed for any template from within the Video Editor. Click on the Background Video button above the canvas to select a video from the media gallery or upload a new video. Detailed steps are listed here.
How can my video be optimized for different devices?
We understand the importance of meeting our viewers where they are - and since that's more than likely on their phone, it makes sense to design with compatibility in mind! Nexweave allows you to design an experience both for Desktop and Mobile devices. Here's a step-by-step guide to design a video that is optimized for different devices.
What video aspect ratio can I upload?
Another great thing about Nexweave is that it's really flexible. It can take videos of any size and aspect ratio. The dimension of the video template is determined by the dimension of the selected background video.
What are Components?
Components are the elements that can be added on top of the video. When you access the video editor, you can see the available component options to the right of the canvas.
There are four types of elements that can be added as layers to your video. These include:

- Text: Clicking on the text tile will add a textbox to the video canvas. You can edit this text box from its properties that appear on the right.
- Image: Clicking on the Image tile will add a blank Image to your canvas. Under properties, you can select the image you want to add here.
- Lottie: Clicking on this tile will add a default .json file to your canvas. Under Properties, you can upload your desired Lottie animation from within your files.
- Button: Clicking on this tile will add a sample button to your canvas. Under properties, you can adjust the content, look, feel, and interaction for the button.
Where do I define the personalization variables for my experience?
With Nexweave, users can create and manage their own variables that can be used for personalization. While editing any experience, if you wish to add personalization variables, click on Enlist Variables within the Editor. You can add both Text inputs as variables as well as set images as variables. With these personalized elements, you'll be able to make each experience unique just like our customers!

What is Define Meta?
The Define Meta tab within a Video Editor is where the template details are defined. You can also personalize the URL and set a social preview through this interface!The following details are provided/ can be edited for video templates :
- The Template ID
- The variables used in the template. These can be copied to personalize the URL and social preview.
- Set the Template Name
- Set the Template Description
- Set the Template Category
- Set the Thumbnail Image for the video, this is the video thumbnail as it would appear in your template library.
- Personalize video URL.
- Set personalized social preview.

How can I edit the component name?
When a component is added to the video canvas, it is listed in the components manager, just below the canvas. You can rename your component by clicking on its name from within the Component Manager - as easy as that!
Apart from that you can edit and perform multiple actions to customize a component.

Is it possible to save a component for future use?
Click on the Save button option in the component manager, and enter the component name. The next time you need to use a component on the fly, it can be accessed by clicking under Saved Components available on the right side of the canvas.
Which Interactivity options are supported by Nexweave?
Nexweave empowers you to add layers of interactivity to your videos to help promote greater engagement with your audience. There are four kinds of interactive actions that can be added to a component. These are:
- Redirect: When you select redirect from the dropdown, a URL input appears below. Enter your desired URL here. This can be your website, product page, or custom landing page. When the viewer clicks on the interactive component, they will be redirected to this URL.
- Email: This option, when selected, will prompt you to enter an Email address (to send an email to), an email subject, and an email body. From the viewer's perspective, when they click on a component with Email interactivity, their default email composer is launched with the Send To field, subject line, and body populated with the configured message.
- Phone. This option, when selected, will prompt you to enter a phone number. Please note that this interaction is only applicable when the video viewer watches it on their mobile phones. From the viewer's perspective, when they click on a component with phone interactivity, they will see a pop-up to dial the configured phone number.
- Seek. The seek interactivity enables you to set another time frame within the video that you would like the viewer to jump to when they click on the interactive component.

Can I have entry and exit timings for a component?
You can adjust the timeframe for any component by defining the start time and end time in the component manager.
Can I change the position and order of the components?
When a component is added to the video canvas, it is highlighted. It can be dragged to reposition and its edges can be dragged out or in to adjust the dimension. There is also a 3-line icon on the top left corner of the component.
The following actions can be performed from the 3-line icon, on the component, within the canvas:
- Move forward: Clicking on this will adjust the relative ordering of component layers. It will move the selected component to the front.
- Move backward: Clicking on this will adjust the relative ordering of component layers. It will move the selected component to the back.
- Duplicate/Clone: This will duplicate the selected component.
- Delete: This function will let you delete your component.
Can I duplicate the component on my video canvas?
You can duplicate a component on the video canvas by clicking on 3 line icon and selecting clone as an option.
How to add text to the video?
With Nexweave, you can add layers of personalized text to your video templates. Simply start by clicking on the Text component tile and then edit all its respective properties open on the right of the canvas.
Can I upload my own font?
Nexweave supports custom brand fonts. You can upload your font file under the content tools tab, Click on the font dropdown, and select upload font.

How can I apply animations to my text?
A large part of creating an engaging experience for your audience involves designing smooth transitions and animations. Every component/ element that is added to a Nexweave video can be animated for its transition In and out, as well as for its duration.
Within the video editor, click on the component on the canvas that you would like to animate. Its corresponding properties open to the right.
Click on Animation Tools and set the properties accordingly.

With the Nexweave platform, you can add multiple components to your video template. The process is easy, just click on the Text component tile and edit all its respective properties that pop up on the screen. If you want another text component or a different type of component, repeat these steps!

- Copy the variable that you would like to use and paste it into the text editor within content tools.
- On the canvas, you will be able to see the edited component with personalized placeholder value that was set in the Enlist Variables tab
What is a Lottie component?
A Lottie is a JSON-based animation file format. They are small files that work on any device and can scale up or down without pixelation. Through a Lottie component tile, you can add a .json file to your canvas. Using these simple animations will help animate any video experience, even more so if they're integrated with interactions too!
How to add a Lottie component on the video?
If you want to add some Lottie animation to your video, it's easy. Just follow these three steps:
- Click on the Lottie component tile to add it to the experience. The corresponding properties will open to the right of the Canvas.
- To upload the animation, select Source tools, in the properties tab and click on Upload Lottie.
- On clicking upload, you can browse through your desktop and select the .json file of your choice.

How to add a button on the video?
With Nexweave, you can add multiple call-to-actions and links to external websites directly to the experience and these buttons can be completely customized for their content, appearance, and interactivity.
Simply start by clicking on the Button component tile to add it to the experience. The respective properties will open on the right-hand side.

How can I personalize an Image?
The only thing cooler than watching a video is getting to watch something that's tailored just for you! Boost your engagement with dynamic images. Each recipient can see a different image based on their personal information or preferences. Perform the following steps to add a personalized image within a video template:
- Start by Enlisting an image as a personalization variable. Click on Enlist Variables within the template editor.
- Click on Add Variable.
- For key, input the variable name. for example you can set the variable name as WEBSITE_IMAGE.
- For value input the image URL that you would like to use. Click on Save Template to confirm the changes.
- Back in Design Experience, under Components click on the Image tile to add it to the canvas. Its properties will open on the right.
- Under Source Tools, click on the Select Variable dropdown and copy the Image variable created in the previous steps (WEBSITE_IMAGE).
- In the Image URL input box, paste this personalization variable. Click on Save Template to complete!
How can I add multiple images to my video?
With the Nexweave platform, you can add multiple components to your video template. The process is easy: just click on the Image component tile and edit all its respective properties that pop up on the screen. If you want another Image component or a different type of component, repeat these steps!
How do I resize an image?
You can resize and reposition the image by selecting the image component on the screen. You can also use the design tool to adjust its dimensions or lock in a set aspect ratio so that images do not stretch out of proportion.

How do I replace an existing image?
Firstly, Under Properties, click on Source Tools to select the Image/ gif to include.
Secondly, You can perform either of the three steps to add or replace an existing image or gif
- Source an online Image/gif: Enter a URL, in the space provided, for the image/gif address, to source an image/gif online.
- Upload a recently uploaded file: Click on Upload Image. From the pop-up that appears, click on one of the existing images/ gifs.
- Add a new image from your personal files: Click on Upload Image.
In the pop-up that appears, click on Upload once again and select your desired image/ gif from your personal files.

You can add Interactions to your Image components, just as you can do for any component.

How to add interactions to a video?
With Nexweave, you can make any component interactive.
Start by clicking on the component on the canvas that you would like to add interactions to. Its corresponding properties open to the right.

What is the difference between Pause and Checkpoint?
Pause and checkpoint, determine the video behavior before the interaction is executed.
Pause will pause the video for the stipulated duration, while it waits for the user to perform the click. After the time is elapsed, the video will continue to play regardless of whether the user clicks on the interactive component
Checkpoint will halt the video when the interactive element appears and the video will only proceed when the user clicks on the interactive component.

Can I personalize the video URLs?
From the Meta Data tab within the editor, you can create a personalized URL for the video. A unique URL can be created for each recipient based on their information.

How can I personalize the information displayed in the social preview?
A social preview of a video is the thumbnail that the recipients see when an experience is shared with them via a social messenger. When creating/ editing a video template, you can customize the social preview under Meta Data. To incorporate personalization, you can copy the personalization variables from the left and paste it within the input box. These personalization variables are the ones that have been employed in the selected video template. You can add more personalization variables from within Enlist variables.
